Is there a connection between eczema and stress? Well the answer to this question is yes. Sleep Well

Getting enough sleep at night is important for preventing the effect that stress has on eczema. For one, the body's immune system needs to be strong to fight off this condition. When you are not getting enough sleep at night, you immune system will suffer. Also, the amount of sleep you get at night sets your body up for what the day has in store. When you do not get enough sleep, you're not able function at full capacity, and it will make an impact on your emotional well-being.

It is recommended that you get at least eight hours of sleep every night. In order to get the most from your sleep, you should turn off the television, limit noise, and sleep with the lights turned off. All of these things can interrupt your REM cycle. Also, be sure to sleep in a cool, comfortable environment.

Practice Relaxation Techniques

Most people are so busy with their daily lives that they do not take the time needed to relax. While your busy lifestyle may make it seem impossible for you to get the relaxation that you need, taking just a few minutes out of your day can make a positive impact on your body's ability to handle stress. Make time throughout the day to breathe in deeply through your nose and out of your mouth is a great relaxation technique that can be done anywhere.

Also, learning meditation and yoga are two great ways to get rid of stress and improve your overall state of well-being.

Seek Medical Treatment

Due to the effect that stress has on your body, it can create a vicious cycle if you're not able to get enough rest and relaxation. By talking with your doctor, you may be able to use different treatments to help you cope better with your stress, and prevent eczema flare-ups from occurring. The condition alone can cause a great deal of stress for most people, so getting your eczema under control with the help of your doctor will decrease the impact.
